Sustainable Fashion Design

Re:Cut The Label is a Swedish Designer Label turning existing resources such as surplus denim fabric and pre-loved jeans into well-crafted designer collections, not only to extend, but enhance the lifespan of textiles.

When designing our collections we aim to design out waste and keep longevity, durability, reuse, resale and recycling in mind already at the design stage. And as a response to overproduction we produce mainly on-demand.

In a perfect world, surplus fabric wouldn't exist, but as it does, the best option is to use it. And by using mainly surplus fabric we can limit the amount of virgin resources we use as well as extend the lifespan of the textiles we do use, keeping them away from landfills.

Garments' negative environmental impact happens mainly during the first phase while producing the fabric. So by skipping that phase and instead take care of, and re-purpose material that already exists, it is possible to significantly reduce garments' negative environmental impact.
